Students of First Batch M.Phil. In Development Practice (2012-14) at CDP

A new start, a new beginning with a new thinking... Students of first Batch M.Phil. In Development Practice (2012-2014) with Minister of Rural Development (India), Shri Jairam Ramesh and Magsaysay award recipient of 2009, Shri Deep Joshi the founding member of Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN).

M.Phil. In Development Practice

M.Phil. Development Practice seeks that a new set of professionals, trained in rural development/ transformational skills are needed to fulfill the bottom-up version of the Indian developmental dream, seeking to link the ‘transformation of self’ to he larger goals of social justice and collective transformation. It is a learner-centric immersion-based program where the students would spend about 12 months in class room and 12 months in villages working with rural communities.

Researching the action and actioning the Research

The M.Phil. programme is based on a learner-centred and immersion-based pedagogy allowing reflection- based learning, where students are expected to learn from real life experiences to understand and engage with the key conceptual ideas as well as develop grounded theory .

Centre for Development Practice (CDP)
Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambekar University, Delhi.

The Centre operates under the aegis of the Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi which has been set up by the Government of the NCT of Delhi. The Centre through its M Phil. Programme aims at critically re-examining the idoms of 'research' and equally established idoms of 'practice'. It questions the methodologies of both and attempts to work towards what we call for a want of a better word 'Action Research'. It is about taking Research to Practice and Practice to Research.
